The Accessible and Inclusive Tourism in Nature Areas Training Toolkit is the main output of our project. Its objective is to provide a comprehensive, practical resource to support nature guides and tourism operators in delivering inclusive experiences in protected natural areas.

This Toolkit will be accessible in both a downloadable PDF version and an online digital format, available in English and the languages of the partner organizations. The PDF version will cater to those who prefer a traditional handbook approach, while the online format will offer flexibility for those who wish to focus on specific sections or revisit topics as needed.

The Toolkit is divided into two main parts:

  1. Core Concepts of Accessibility and Inclusivity: Covering topics such as understanding accessibility laws, diverse visitor needs, and the principles of inclusive design.
  2. Practical Tools for Action: Offering guidance on communication, adapting infrastructure, stakeholder collaboration, and marketing inclusive tourism experiences.

Each section includes short theoretical explanations and practical recommendations, alongside concrete activities and case studies. The modular design ensures that guides and operators can tailor the learning experience to their specific needs, building their expertise step by step.

By using this Toolkit, nature guides will gain the skills to:

  • Adapt guided tours to diverse accessibility needs.
  • Communicate effectively with visitors with disabilities.
  • Personalize services and resolve accessibility challenges.
  • Evaluate and enhance inclusivity in their activities.

Stay tuned! Partners are finalizing all components, and the Toolkit is set to be published in January. Get ready to take a significant step forward in creating inclusive and accessible tourism experiences!
